I don't want to hear about it. Won't start the same old shouting. I don't really care what came over you
I won't stay to see you crying. Lying there as if you're dying. Won't forgive again what you've done before
I forever started walking. Before you finish talking I'll be out your door
I don't want to hear it. Just desserts you'll have to wear it. I'm gone
I don't want to hear your story. Lame excuses fail and bore me
I don't really care if your sweater's tight
I won't stay to see you pleading. Kissing me is self-defeating
Won't forget again who you wronged me for
I forever started walking. Before you finish talking I'll be out your door
I don't want to hear it. Just desserts you'll have to wear it. I'm gone
This has been dead for a long time
To lies you've been wed for a long time
My pride I've been fed for a long time
This portion I push away
I don't want to hear about it
Your face I'll do without it
You can go and lay in your troubles arms
I won't stay to see you teething
Won't look back to see you grieving
I don't really care and to prove my point
I forever started walking
Before you finish talking I'll be out your door
I don't want to hear it
Just desserts you'll have to wear it
I'm gone

Behind The Song...
Just Desserts
To make a lyric more interesting (for me at least), I tend towards using words that have two meanings in my songs. In these cases, the meaning of a line or an entire song can shift and/or be two things at once depending upon those different meanings. Sometimes they have different spellings. Sometimes not. This one is obviously (I think) a play on “desert” and “dessert”. In this song we are ending a bad relationship by deserting it. Dessert comes at the end of a meal. When all is said and done, if you treat someone poorly, you deserve to wear it as in a “pie to the face”.
