My biggest gift this Christmas
Memories of Christmas
A gift unwrapped many years ago
Didn’t have that much that Christmas
But were safe in our snow globe
As circumstance shook Daddy's hand
All I want this Christmas
To share the gift of Christmas with every child young or old
We huddled close that Christmas
Waiting on the stairs for our Mom to tell us he's been here
All I want this Christmas
To share the gift of Christmas
With every child young or old
To be wrapped in love
Wrapped in faith
Wrapped with hope and made to wait
To unwrap all our hearts can take
To be full of cheer and to be warm
Sheltered from the cold
And the storm outside
Safe within the eyes of our parents on Christmas
The gift of Christmas given to a child
The biggest gift you give this Christmas
Memories of Christmas
The biggest gift you give this Christmas
Memories of Christmas

Behind The Song...
The Gift Of Christmas
My brother, my sister and I had an idyllic upbringing. We never felt real want for anything. We always felt safe and cared for.
Having now been a parent myself, and having experienced most of the trials of life firsthand, I now know the feeling of safety I had was provided by my parents as they shielded us from the colder winds of the world. And in that “snow globe”, shielded from the uglier realities of life, ideas like Santa and flying reindeer and a Virgin Birth and Jesus turning water into wine and world peace can all exist unchallenged. It is a very nice and warm place to be. If only we could stay there longer.
Once you have left, the only way to get a glimpse of this beautiful place is to provide the “Snow Globe” for your own children and grandchildren and in general support the wonderful societal ruse that is Christmas.
