I’m gonna tell you ‘bout the blues in see
They’re every little thing they said they’d be
There’s time for fooling. No time for fuss. Blues in see demands the best of us
Blues in see start with a little cough
Yeah they set you free. First they piss you off
Your eyes’ll water. You’ll clinch a fist.
Them blues’ll be the hanging type if you resist the fever you set free
Grab appling stupidly. Blues in see
Sitting on the dock watching the wheels
Listen for the laughter and the giggles and squeals
The brighter side of life’s just across the road
To make it there you can’t be dear a chicken or toad
Sunday morning eases in
Lean over, hear and listen friend
All you’ll ever be. Blues in see
Blues in see start with a little cough
Yeah they set you free. First they piss you off
Your eyes’ll water. You’ll flip a lid
Them blues they ain’t the leaving type you can’t get rid of the fever consciously. Blues in see
Now I’ve told you ‘bout the blues in see
They’re every little thing I’d hope they’d be
My eyes are clearing. My fists a hand. Joyfully jigging the master plan
Happy as can be. Propping up beneath the tree
Chew appling happily. Blues in see

Behind The Song...
Blues In See
This song took its title from the name of the collection and was conceived to sum up the general theme of the overall collection of songs...”The joyful participation in the sorrows of the world”. Years ago, I purchased a button at a hippie store in Brattleboro, Vermont that said “The truth will set you free, but first it will piss you off”. Indeed... I also purchased several guitar straps that I use to this day and also a mini (2‘x3’) book entitled “Bob Dylan: The Gospel Speeches”....funny what you remember.
