Liviu Pop

Hailing from Romania, Liviu’s grooves and smile are infectious as Nadia's Theme. When not performing with his Jazz group LPG, or touring with Bruce Katz, or performing with any number of New York/New England Blues or Jazz outfits, Liviu can be seen “jet-setting’ to Europe to perform at festivals of all sorts.

Liviu has played with Lucky Peterson, Mighty Sam McClain, Hubert Sumlin and literally too many other important national and regional musicians to list here. Liviu always has the groove in his playing while simultaneously demonstrating his fiery spontaneity. He is one of the few that can play blues, jazz and all shades of American roots styles with authority and originality.

Liviu has also been inducted into the Connecticut Blues Hall of Fame.

When not drumming, Liviu can most certainly be found tapping his toes.
