Rick Handville began playing and studying guitar at age 5 and keyboards at age 12. He majored in Music Education at Hartt College of Music in West Hartford, CT and then majored in Jazz Guitar at University of Bridgeport studying with influential Jazz guitarist Sal Salvador for 2 years. Throughout his high school and college years he taught private guitar lessons in and around Enfield, CT. He has played with numerous bands throughout New England including, the Downbeats, Stryder, Mainstreet, and most recently, Mosaic. Mosaic was a jazz group playing mostly Latin influenced Contemporary jazz from 1997 until 2007. The group included Frank Giguere on drums and percussion and Jim LaMontagne on basses. Later members included Dave Natale on bass and Craig Garfinkel on bass. Mosaic has evolved into a contemporary blues and rock group performing at numerous clubs and festivals throughout New England. Rick has also done extensive recording with many musicians and groups, both in his home studio and at many studios in the Hartford/Springfield area.
